A friend of mine was hosting a dinner party and wanted to surprise his guests with an unexpected dessert. So he asked me to create dinner cupcakes. They taste like dessert, but look like dinner! After searching via Google for a fair amount of time – I decided to make Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes! It’s actually really easy.
Choose your favorite cupcake recipe and have at it. You’ll want to make a vanilla frosting and add a few drops of yellow food coloring (or you can buy store bought frosting if you’re in a pinch). Just make sure it’s yellow (to look like spaghetti). Using a basic small round piping tip, just haphazardly pipe thin lines (I never stopped piping until I had the right amount of “spaghetti” on top of each cupcake) until you have covered the top of the cupcake. Add a little of your favorite jelly (I used raspberry) for the “sauce” and then place a few malt balls on top for your meatballs. A little grate white chocolate can serve as “parmesan cheese” and there you have it, spaghetti and meatballs!
